Founded in 1867, Bamag has evolved to be the world's leader in innovative water and wastewater treatment technology. Bamag's extensive history includes the construction of over 1,000 wastewater treatment plants for industrial and municipal wastewater for approx. 55 million population equivalents, more than 500 plants for potable water treatment provide about 50 million people with clean potable water, and over 1,000 plants for the supply of service, cooling and boiler feed water. Bamag operates on a worldwide scale, particularly in Europe, the Middle East (Egypt, the Gulf States, North Africa) and South America. In its service territory, Bamag mainly provides turnkey services, thereby offering clients a single line responsibility. Outside of its service territory, Bamag primarily provides engineering services and supplies proprietary equipment to a general contractor or to a civil construction company, as the case may be. Clients include: Shell, Exxon, Nestle, British Steel, Hoogovens, Thyssen, Volkswagen, General Motors, Hoechst, BASF, Coca-Cola, Stora, Merck, Sasol, Novartis, SmithKline Beecham, Procter & Gamble, among others. Allied acquired 100% of Bamag in 2002.
